Filler Treatments with Dr. Spiegl
Volume Restoration with Hyaluronic Acid and Biostimulators in Salzburg and the Tullnerfeld
Fillers replace what is lost over the years: volume. Therein lies the difference from botulinum toxin, which relaxes muscles – the two methods are not in competition, and they are frequently combined. The material used is primarily hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body, binds water and is fully broken down again after a time; depending on the indication, calcium hydroxylapatite, Profhilo® and Sculptra® are also used, which do not simply fill but stimulate the body’s own collagen production. What matters here is less the product than the hand: the lips, the nose and the midface are richly vascularised regions, and an injection misplaced into a vessel is the one genuinely serious complication of these treatments. Dr. Spiegl therefore works with fine cannulas and needles and expressly does not use the so-called hyaluron pen, which is too imprecise to control that risk. The guiding principle is to accentuate rather than to alter: the underlying shape is preserved and individual features are emphasised. The overview below introduces the available treatments briefly – each detail page covers the procedure, longevity and costs.

Lip Augmentation (Lip Fillers)
In lip augmentation, hyaluronic acid is used to improve volume, contour and symmetry – guided by the natural shape of the lip, which loses fullness over the years. After a thorough analysis and consultation, the patient’s wishes determine the result, from subtle to distinctly accentuated; not every lip suits every trend, and pronounced shapes such as so-called Russian lips are compatible only with particular anatomical conditions. A numbing cream is applied before treatment, and most patients experience no more than a mild sensation of pressure. During the first 24 hours, make-up, sauna and sunbeds should be avoided; the swelling subsides after approximately one week, the final result becomes apparent after around two weeks, and it lasts six to twelve months depending on product, quantity and metabolism.
Non-Surgical Nose Correction (Liquid Rhinoplasty)
In non-surgical nose correction, also known as liquid rhinoplasty, hyaluronic acid is injected between the skin and the nasal framework: depressions and irregularities are filled, the bridge of the nose is visually straightened, asymmetries are evened out and the tip is subtly raised. The result is immediately visible. Decisive, however, is the limit of the method, since it can only add volume: a dorsal hump cannot be removed, a reduction is possible only optically, and functional problems of nasal breathing cannot be addressed this way – for those, surgical rhinoplasty remains the method of choice. The treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes and is performed without anaesthesia, with a numbing cream on request; because of the vascular anatomy of this region, blunt cannulas are used. The final result becomes apparent after two to three weeks and usually lasts twelve months or longer, as hyaluronic acid is broken down slowly in the nasal area.

Facial Filler Treatments (Liquid Facelift)
In a liquid facelift, selected areas of the face are treated without surgery in order to compensate for loss of volume, smooth lines and gently firm contours – typically the cheeks and midface, the chin and jawline, and the nasolabial and marionette lines. The choice of material follows the region and the objective: hyaluronic acid binds water and provides immediate volume, Radiesse® (calcium hydroxylapatite) provides volume and additionally stimulates collagen formation, Profhilo® improves above all the elasticity and hydration of the skin, and Sculptra® works exclusively through new collagen formation, which is why its effect builds up over several weeks. Every treatment is preceded by an analysis of skin quality, volume distribution and facial expression, from which an individual concept is developed; several products are frequently combined. Injection is carried out with fine cannulas or needles, with a numbing cream on request, and longevity ranges from six months to as much as two years depending on the preparation.
