After receiving the cost estimate (the price varies considerably and is approximately €9,000 including anaesthesia and hospital stay) and deciding to proceed with surgery with Dr. Spiegl, a surgical date will be scheduled together. In this regard, it is important to know that under Austrian law, two weeks must pass between the informed consent consultation and the signing of the surgical consent.
Procedure and Duration of Surgery
Prior to the operation, a comprehensive personal consultation takes place with Dr. Spiegl at one of his two practices – either in Salzburg or in Tullnerfeld. Here, your wishes, physical conditions, and treatment goals are precisely coordinated.
- Duration of surgery: approx. 3 hours
- Anaesthesia: general anaesthesia
- Inpatient stay: approx. 1–2 nights at the clinic

Healing Process & Downtime
Swelling and a feeling of tightness are normal in the first few days after surgery. Light activities can usually be resumed after approximately 2 weeks. Sporting activities should only be undertaken after approximately 4–6 weeks.
The final result becomes apparent after 3 to 6 months, once the swelling has completely subsided and the tissue has adapted to the new body shape.
