Botulinum toxin does not act on the skin but on the muscle beneath it, which is why it suits expression lines rather than loss of volume — fillers do that, and the two are often combined. Beyond wrinkles, the same principle is applied very precisely: to raise descended brows, accentuate the upper lip, stabilise a nasal tip that drops when smiling, or correct a gummy smile. A second, purely medical application is the treatment of excessive sweating; all of these are outpatient treatments of ten to twenty minutes with no downtime.

These methods work on the skin itself rather than on volume or tissue tension: on its structure, its pigmentation and its capacity to regenerate. The range runs from chemical peels and targeted depigmentation to PRP, microneedling and fractional CO₂ laser, which differ above all in how deeply they act and in how much downtime they require. The result is usually the product of several sessions and of consistent sun protection, which determines how long it lasts more than the treatment itself does.

Stubborn fat deposits often persist even when diet and exercise are right, because they follow genetic distribution rather than the calorie balance. Injection lipolysis dissolves such deposits without surgery, and suits small, clearly defined pads — under the chin, on the upper arms, on the inner knees — in patients of stable weight and good skin elasticity. It reduces volume but does not tighten the skin above it, so for larger areas surgical liposuction delivers the more convincing result.

Fat Reduction Treatments

Fillers replace what is lost over the years: volume. The material is primarily hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and is fully broken down again, alongside preparations such as Radiesse®, Profhilo® and Sculptra® that stimulate the body’s own collagen production. Treated areas are the lips, the nose and the face, with the guiding principle of accentuating rather than altering — and because these are richly vascularised regions, the work is done with fine cannulas and needles, never with a hyaluron pen.
