Gentle ear correction (otoplasty) for a harmonious and natural facial appearance

Why have your ears pinned back?

Protruding ears are among the most common aesthetic features in the facial area – both in children and adults. Many individuals find their ears bothersome or disproportionately prominent.
A surgical ear pinning (otoplasty) can provide a permanent solution and significantly harmonize the facial appearance. The goal is always a natural, balanced result that fits harmoniously into the individual facial anatomy.

The otoplasty procedure

During ear pinning, the auricles are surgically shaped so that they lie closer to the head and appear symmetrical. Depending on the individual anatomical situation, cartilage is modeled, reduced, or fixed to achieve the desired position. Sometimes a reduction of the auricle and folding are also necessary to achieve a perfect result.
The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis under short general anesthesia or local anesthesia (for minor findings) and takes about 1 to 1.5 hours.
The sutures are removed after approx. 12 days, and the fine scars run inconspicuously behind the ear.

Is ear pinning painful?

Thanks to local anesthesia, the procedure is painless. In the first few days after the surgery, there may be a slight feeling of pressure or pulling.

The incisions are located behind the auricle and are barely perceptible after healing.

How long must the headband be worn?

To stabilize the new ear shape, the headband should be worn for about two to three weeks – especially at night.
